Why did you have fun participating in The Great Urban Race?
It’s fun to dress us and run through the city, especially the parts we have never been to. The milkmaid loves to run, the cow enjoys puzzles so we thought this was a great way to work together and spend a Saturday outside.

How do you know each other?
I stalked him for a week in college until he finally asked me out; five years later we’re still dating.

What was our favorite part?
Four hours into the race, teams were still as enthusiastic about winning as they were at the start line. The bus ride back to Liberty Station at the end of the race was filled with teams. Everyone was laughing and sharing stories, but when the bus stopped, it was every cow and crayon for themselves, everyone jumping over bushes and sprinting toward the finish like we were out to win Olympic gold.

Why would you recommend The Great Urban Race?
We had an exciting day; the competition is friendly, fierce, and very funny. You don’t have to be in great running shape to do well, it’s as much a race for your mind as it is for your body. It’s unlike any race you’ve ever done and it’s as close to the Amazing Race as most people will ever get.

Thoughts about The Great Urban Race?
Stop running and start thinking; we ran probably twice as far as we should have because we wouldn’t stop to figure the clues out. Oh and get dressed up, you’ll have A LOT more fun.

***Remember: Online registration ends at 5:00pm on 10/23/09, but Race Day registration will still be available!***

We’ll be returning to America’s Finest City again in 2009! Teams will find checkpoints, complete challenges and navigate the streets of areas like Little Italy, Hillcrest and Downtown.
