Team Baby Poop
Chris Gwinner & Hasham Abukhdeir

Place finished in the 2008 Atlanta race:
6th

Why did you have fun participating in The Great Urban Race?
For Team Baby Poop, participating in GUR was the equivalent of accomplishing our unreached goal of becoming Gerber babies. Being able to exhibit what we could have brought to the world of baby modeling in the early 1980's while chasing down clues and competing with other teams was a dream come true.

How do you know each other?
It was a hot day in August, circa 1999, when I visited Georgia Tech for orientation. I was just a wee lad at the time with no idea of what college had to offer. Squire Christopher Gwinner was one of the first people I met on campus. We embarked on the wondrous journey of early adulthood as friends since that fateful afternoon.

What's your favorite part about participating in The Great Urban Race?
I thought it was really cool how the GUR allowed me to see my home city in a completely different light. I mean, I had been to all those areas before, but I never had to do it one day while interacting with all the people around me.

Why would you recommend The Great Urban Race?
The GUR was way more fun than I could have anticipated. Both of us had such a good time figuring out and searching for clues, and we both really enjoyed meeting and talking to all the other people involved. Anyone can do it, so everyone should try it.

Thoughts about The Great Urban Race?
I was really happy Chris told me about the race. Our training for the 2009 GUR began the next day, and we haven't looked back. Be on the lookout for the return of the most fearsome (and cutest) team in GUR history, Baby Poop.

We’ll be visiting the Queen City for the first time in 2009! Teams will find checkpoints, complete challenges and navigate the streets of areas like South End, Center City and NoDa.
