Congratulations to all of the participants who made Great Urban Race Atlanta such a huge success! Over 600 racers came to Sidebar seeking adventure and wearing lots of creative costumes.
Participants navigated the streets of Atlanta and completed a variety of unique activities, from a Miller64 sponsored clue to tasting delicious menu items at Henri's Bakery, completing a salsa dance challenge, and this year’s Feature Clue: carrying oxygen tanks while dressed in scuba gear and eating dried squid at Divers at Sea! How’s that for a Saturday?
A special thanks to everyone who donated needed supplies to the Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities. Your donations made a huge difference to families in need and they truly appreciate your efforts!
At first place Odd Platinum came dashing through the finish line with an astounding time of 2:40! Professor Plum’s Posse quickly came in second, crossing the finish line at 2:42! We Survived Vernon High locked in third place with a time of 2:53 to round out our Top Three. These teams also receive a free entry to the Las Vegas Championship where they will compete for the $10,000 prize!
Courtesy of Miller64, the 64th place team also qualifies for the Vegas Championship! Congratulations Team Mooja!
The costume contest was full of great get-ups, and the audience enjoyed a show from all of our Best Costume Nominees. After an intense clap-offs That’s What She Said took home the coveted GUR pint glasses and a gift certificate to Sidebar. Thanks to everyone who dressed in costume and added to the spirit of the day.
Thank you to our volunteers, Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities, Sidebar‘s staff, our clue locations and all of our phenomenal participants. The GUR crew had an amazing time and we look forward to seeing everyone next year!
