Congratulations to all of the participants who made Great Urban Race Seattle a huge success! Over 250 teams gathered at Pyramid Ale House wearing costumes and ready to solve clues. Participants navigated the streets and hills of Seattle completing a variety of unique activities, from styling hair at Milagros Salon and Spa, to sampling a delicious twist on soda at Dry Soda, to trusting their sense of smell at Market Spice.
A special thanks to everyone who donated much needed supplies to Northwest Harvest. Your donations made a huge difference and they truly appreciate your efforts!
At first place Where's the Bell? came dashing through the finish line with an astounding time of 1:39! Avenging Narwhals came in a very close second place, but also claimed Top Family Team crossing the finish line at 1:40! The Goats locked in third place with a time of 1:48 to round out our Top Three. These teams also receive a free entry to the New Orleans Championship where they will compete for the $10,000 prize!
A big thank you to our St. Jude fundraising winner, Water Donkeys, who also are eligible to register for the New Orleans Championship race! Another congratulations goes out to our St. Jude Challenge Winner, Team Jaynes.
The costume contest was full of great costumes and the audience enjoyed a show from all of our Best Costume Nominees. After an intense clap-off between some awesome costumes, Wicked Witches took home the title! Thanks to everyone who dressed in costume and added to the spirit of the day.
Thank you to our St. Jude volunteers, Northwest Harvest, Pyramid Ale House staff, our clue locations and all of our phenomenal participants. The GUR crew had an amazing time and we can’t wait to see you all again next year!
