Congratulations to all of the participants who made Great Urban Race Denver such a great success! It was quite a sight as participants gathered at Lodo’s Bar and Grill seeking adventure and wearing lots of creative costumes.
Participants navigated the streets of Denver and completed a variety of unique activities, brushing up their place setting skills at Castle Marne, learning the hand jive at the Denver Turnverein, and getting rid of their 5 o’clock shadow at Floyd’s 99 Barbershop.
A special thanks to everyone who donated much needed supplies to The Salvation Army. Your donations made a huge difference and they truly appreciate your efforts!
At first place, Denver Agents came dashing through the finish line with an astounding time of 1:26! Tig Ole Bitties came in second, crossing the finish line at a solid time of 1:57! 2 Bros, No Hos locked in third place with a time of 2:10 to round out our Top Three. These teams also receive a free entry to the New Orleans Championship where they will compete for the $10,000 prize!
A big thank you to our St. Jude fundraising winner, Lil’ Smokies! Another congratulations goes out to our Top Family Cook St. Puritans with a time of 2:23.
The costume contest was full of great costumes and the audience enjoyed a show from all of our Best Costume Nominees. After an intense clap-off between some awesome costumes, The Flinstones took home the title! Thanks to everyone who dressed in costume and added to the spirit of the day.
Thank you to our St. Jude volunteers, The Salvation Army, Lo Do’s staff, our clue locations and all of our phenomenal participants. The GUR crew had an amazing time!
