Congratulations to all participants who made Great Urban Race Washington D.C. such a huge success! 364 teams came out to DC Armory Mall seeking adventure and wearing crazy costumes. Participants navigated through the streets of Washington D.C. and completed a variety of unique activities, from tossing pennies into Lincoln's hat, solving a horse shoe puzzle at RFD, learning pilates moves at Stroga, pairing beers at Pizzeria Paradiso and completing either a serving challenge at The Diner or testing their vocals at Madam's Organ.

A special thanks to everyone who donated birthday cards to Strarlight Childrens Research MidAtlantic. Your donations made a huge impact on children and their families who are coping with a serious illness. They truly appreciate your efforts!

In first place, Snookin' for the Beach came bolting through the finish line with an astounding time of 2:04! Funny Tragic came in second, crossing the finish line at 2:25! In third place Sex Wax and Sunshine came in just just seconds behind also finishing at 2:25. These teams also receive a free entry to the New Orleans Championship where they will compete for the $10,000 prize!

A big thank you to our St. Jude Fundraising Winner Mucky Linx and our St. Jude Challenge winner The Care Bears. As the winner, they are also eligible to compete in the New Orleans Championship.

The costume contest was full of great costumes and the audience enjoyed a show from all of our Best Costume nominees. Our two smurfettes took home the prize! Thanks to everyone who dressed in costume and added to the spirit of the day. Thank you to our St. Jude volunteers, DC Armory Mall, DC United, our clue locations and all of our phenomenal participants. The GUR Crew had an amazing time and we look forward to seeing everyone next year!
