Race Day Recap

Congratulations to all participants in San Francisco who came out for another awesome Great Urban Race! The sunny weather made for an exciting day of adventure. All participants started the day off at Sports Basement and went on to explore the hidden gems of San Francisco. Masterminds completed a variety of unique activities that required quick thinking, problem solving, and physical tenacity!

Throughout the day our participants went to Lamplighters Music Theatre where they had to memorize, then recite famous songs and Leland Tea Company where participants had to land two tea bags on the bill of a hat. Another favorite was Eagle Club Indoor Golf where participants put their swing to the test by collectively hitting a golf ball 500 yards.

Congratulations go out to our first, second, and third place teams who all receive a free entry to the 2013 National Championship in San Juan, Puerto Rico and the chance to compete for $10,000 in cash prizes! In first place, we had Finnisters finishing in 1:39! Taintastic finished second with a time of 1:47 and Tweedles grabbed the third place spot at 1:48!

Well-deserved rounds of applause were given to some great costumes at Great Urban Race San Francisco, but it was PB & J who won the crowd over. Thanks to all the teams who brought some added spirit to the day!

Thanks to our St. Jude volunteers, all of our clue locations and of course all of our amazing participants. The GUR crew had an excellent time and we look forward to seeing you again, San Francisco!
