Thanks to all the great Phoenix racers, including the 17 from out of state, who showed up to our first ever Great Urban Race Phoenix, er, Tempe.  You had us laughing all day long (careful for those Spanish candy hearts).

A total of 214 racers scoured Tempe for what proved to be a very challenging race (nearly half of the teams had a 30 minute penalty for missing a clue).

Thanks to everyone who put so much effort into all the great costumes - we wish we could give an award to everyone with a great costume!  You truly add to the positive spirit of the event!

On Phoenix's warmest day in three months (75 and sunny), Save Pluto and Peanuts Kill crossed the finish line within one second of each other for 1st and 2nd place.  Scottish Donkeys finished six minutes later in 2:15 to round out the top three and the free entries to Nationals.

In the family division, father / daughter Team Levenberg finished 6th overall to become our first family division team to qualify for Nationals and they easily took first place in the family division in 2:28.

We'll certainly be back in Phoenix next year in what should be a more interesting race with the addition of Phoenix's light rail system.

Thank you to Quinn and Four Peaks Brewery for being a great sponsor and congrats on having a couple of your teams qualify for Nationals!

And thank you to San Felipe's Cantina!
