Sunny skies and 70 degree weather welcomed an excited group of 270 racers to our first Great Urban Race Dallas.

 

In what proved to be the longest and most difficult race to date, participants took a Tae-Kwon do lesson, went through a 65' inflatable obstacle course that included a little rock climbing wall and a slide at the end, zipped around Dallas flaunting creative costumes, and some even revisited their youth by flying kites. 

 

Thanks to the generous man who happened to be flying a kite near one of the checkpoints.

 

Congratulations to every team who attempted to finish this daunting Dallas race - rest assured, next year's event will be more compact!  Congrats, too, to all the team's who completed the race within the five hour cutoff!

Three hours came and went without a team in sight.  Then the experienced adventure racers of Vignette stepped on the finish mat in 3:02. Not far behind, Triple Crown finished in 2nd in 3:03 (and they met the morning of the race!).   Wee Dotes rounded out the top three, finishing in 3:40.

 

Best Costume went to BlueBees, Best Photos to The Total Package, and the top family team was Proto-Quad - great job to all.
