CHAMPIONSHIP INTERVIEW
With Team Benton Clock Blockers!
Members: Stephanie Scott& Jim Barnthouse

Have you ever participated in a GUR before?

No, but we’ll never miss it again when it comes to St. Louis!

How did you prepare for the race?

We strategized over wine the night before. Then, we accidentally ran eight miles the morning of. Then, we ran the whole race…

What was your overall race strategy?

1. Run the whole race.
2. Look over the clues and plan your route before you leave.
3. Whenever crossing paths with another team, tell them you’re on your last clue.

Did anything go wrong during the race? No. Honestly, we ran hard, played smart and enjoyed ourselves. Also, now we know Taekwondo.
What was your favorite clue? Why? Fudge one! We sang "Weak in the Knees" by SWV to a stranger that danced, and then she gave us delicious fudge.
What was the most memorable part of the day? The foot race to the end with a VERY close second place team. WHEW!
Any secrets to your success that you’d be willing to share? Always assume someone's ahead of you. Ignore the fact that it's 100 degrees and run eight miles before the race.
